PANDIT PARIMAL CHAKRABARTY

He inherited an atmosphere congenial to music from a family of genuine music lovers. Parimal started exploring the hidden joys of music from a tender age of four under the able guidance of his father Sri. Nikhil Chandra Chakrabarty. Later he also got the opportunity to take "talim" from Late Ram Dhrube and Late Padmabhushan Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh. From the year 1976 onwards, he is under the tutelage of versatile tabla Maestro Late Pandit Shankar Ghosh a doyen of Farukkabad Gharana. . He is a "TOP GRADE" artist of All India Radio. He got "President Award" in the year 1989 and after that he became a direct "A" grade artist of All India Radio He has participated in more than Ninety National Programmes of All India Radio and Doordarshan including his Tabla Solos and Akashbani Sangeet Sammelans.
